I’ve recorded my expertise on a series of videos for you. Each one is packed full of information, insights, explanations and easy-to-follow, practical strategies to work through with your child.
The programme spans 5 learning modules. Every three weeks, I’ll release a new training video, which you can watch as often as you like, you’ll then have time to apply what you’ve learned as you work with your child or children. In the third week of each module I host an optional Learning Lounge . This is an online session where you can ask questions, check information, share stories and celebrate successes with other course participants.
The Learning Lounge sessions are held via Zoom and are around 60 minutes long. These informal sessions will be recorded in case you are unable to attend at any point. Questions can be submitted in advance if you know you won’t be attending.
Ongoing Support. Because I want you to get the best possible results from this programme, I will be answering questions and queries submitted either by email or WhatsApp voice notes twice a week.
All training videos and resources will be accessed via a Kartra Portal. You will have access to them for the duration of the programme. In addition, resources to support all learning and activities will be available in your portal as long as you are an Unlock Learning Foundations member.
Once the course is completed, you will have access to your portal for 3 weeks. After that, you will be invited to continue as an Unlock Learning member with all the support and benefits that gives you to support you into the future.
“I am so grateful for the wealth of information you passed on that I now utilise in my work with Jack. He has just had his reading age results back and it has increased by 16 months in 6 months - thank you for your part in this.”

Module 1: Find and remove the Issues that are holding your child back.
Dyslexic children don’t experience text the way others do. When they look at a page the letters might blur or disappear or move around. They might not be able to remember and recreate spelling patterns, letters or words, or perhaps they can read but can’t remember what they just read.
Usually there are one or two specific things like this which make reading or writing extremely difficult for them. Each child is different so we must find out exactly what they are dealing with before we can help them.
You will learn how to find out what it’s like for your child when they look at text and the precise reason, they‘re struggling to read and spell. Once you know what the problem is you’ll be able to help them to stop it happening and your child will begin reading and spelling much more easily.
Module 2: Use the visual part of the brain to read and spell more effectively.
In school we usually ask children to read with the book on a table, so they have to look down at it. This can be difficult for a child with dyslexia because when eyes look down it shuts off the part of their brain that’s most useful for reading and remembering. You will learn why this is and how your child can use looking up in the right way as a powerful tool for improving their reading and memory.
Dyslexic children can struggle to memorise spellings using traditional methods; You will learn how to use the visual spelling strategy with your child. This method of learning spellings is much more effective for most children and especially for children with dyslexia
Module 3: Understand how letters and sounds work together:
Many children who find reading and spelling difficult find it hard to hear separate sounds within a word, which makes it tricky to work out how to write the word down. As well as that your child may not understand the difference between letters, which are images, and sounds which are not, or the relationship between them. In this session I will teach you a fun way to make sure your child can hear sounds within words and then spell words more confidently and accurately.
One of the reasons that dyslexia is common in English speaking countries is that English is an extremely complicated language to teach using phonics. Once a child has understood a rule, they can quickly come across a word that breaks it, which can lead to frustration and poor self-belief. Because of this, it’s important that we use language very carefully. You will learn how to talk about phonics without confusing your child.
Module 4: Elements of spelling:
Dyslexic children in particular find it very difficult to remember how to write the same sound in different ways. It is tricky for them to know which words use one way of writing the sound and which words use alternative spellings for the same sound. The most confusing sounds are often the vowel sounds. You and your child will learn an enjoyable, fun and highly effective way to easily know and remember which way to spell commonly used words containing vowel sounds. You will be able to use this method to help your child with other vowel sounds in the future when they are reading and spelling.
Module 5: Reading Focus:
Children often resist reading with a parent, so we need ways to make reading into a positive experience for both of you. You will learn how to use non-verbal language cues so that reading sessions with your child become an enjoyable time for you to spend together.
Challenges are a great way to motivate children (and adults!). You will learn how to set appropriate, effective, and fun reading challenges for your child which make reading together fun and something you both look forward to. Children often miss-out, miss-read or change short words when reading. You will find out why and what can be done about this. You will also find out why some children read but can’t remember what they have read and ways to put this right. Overall, this element will increase your child’s confidence in reading and allow them to start enjoying reading to and with you.
The cost for this entire programme is just £997.
